The Empire style wedding dress flatters most all body types. It is especially popular for brides who want to camouflage the tummy area and bring attention to the chest and shoulders. The high, raised waist creates a long line, ideal for the petite or taller bride. The skirt may be slightly flowing, straight, or as wide as an A-line.

The Sheath style is for the bride who isn’t afraid to show off her body! This body-hugging silhouette is sculpted very close the body, and can be quite exquisite given the right wedding gown fit. Avoid this style if you are uncomfortable with the size of your hips.

The Ball Gown wedding dress is the most dramatic of all bridal silhouettes. It features a small waist (dropped or natural) and a very full skirt with petticoat. Most flattering to women of at least average height with hourglass or full figures—as it will hide a larger bottom and emphasize your waist and shoulders. This Ball wedding dress skirt is not recommended for the petite bride, as it would be overwhelming.

The A-line wedding dress or wedding gown literally comes from the letter “A” and its shape—a narrow bodice and outer edges of a wide sleek skirt. Available in a variety of fabrics, the A-line/Princess cut may or may not have a seam at the waist, which may be higher or lower than the natural waistline. Most body types, including petites and full figures will find this silhouette flattering.

Because vintage is in, we will start to see more vintage, earthy and sun-washed colors; on the other hand, brides are still favoring the bright colors paired with black. Another new trend we will start to see is shades of gray.
