Some brides who chose to have destination weddings do so because they want a simple wedding. No frills or flairs. Just a nice wedding ceremony between them and their future husband in which they promise to love each other until death. For this type of bride, a simple wedding dress would be the best choice.

Your wedding dress should have delicate details to it and not be overpowering in any way. Things such as soft layers or a sheer overlay fit well into this style. If you are going for this style you should avoid destination wedding dresses that are too structured and heavy looking. Avoid dresses like ballroom gowns and ones that are body hugging style. Instead look for ones that have an empire waist and float away from the body without being too big.

Lastly, mermaid style destination wedding dresses can be made from a variety of fabrics. They can be slinky silk dresses or they can be ornate lace dresses. If you chose a silk mermaid dress, just know that it will show more of your body than a heavier fabric or lace one

Depending on the bride's budget, the wedding dress can be a hefty expense. Often brides purchase an extra, less expensive option that's still photographs well for the trash the dress session. Shoes and accessories are not needed, makeup can be minimal (since it's likely wash off when splashing in the water) and natural, loose hair give the photos a more romantic look. Throwing the groom into the mix for some tender poses makes the photos more intimate and it's a great moment to release the stress of the event and just be silly and kick up your feet up together. For him- a simple white shirt and a rolled up pair of chinos is always the easiest option.
